She'd had a quick chat with Ducky, finding out about the medical history of the victim, and was heading back to her lab to check her findings against the newly acquired information. The screen would show Fred sitting in her room at the Hyperion, cross-legged on her bed. She kept her tablet on most of the time now, half-watching for newcomers and have waiting to see what her friends were doing. She offered a wave to the new arrival, and a bit of a smile.

"Hey there. Welcome to Taxon."

"Taxon?" Abby didn't think it sounded familiar at all. "But I was... well I wasn't in Taxon - whatever that is." She pressed a button on the tablet to try to get to a start menu or something. On her end, it seemed there was no change. What'd she done was switch her feed to visual.

"Who are you? Did you bring me here? Once Gibbs finds out I'm gone, you're going to regret it. Trust me." Abby realized that it was highly unlikely that any one person could do something like this. Maybe this woman was a lackey? That was more likely.

"So I've got this map that's showing... something out there. What is it?"

"Nah, I didn't bring ya here, sorry." Fred didn't seem put out by the accusation, it was understandable given the circumstances. "I'm Fred, and Taxon is..." She smiled faintly. "Difficult to explain. Uh, lemmie see. You were taken from wherever you were and brought here. It's a city inside this really big cave, with a fake sun and everything. Sounds kinda crazy, huh?"

"Oh, you've got a map dot? That's a place. Somewhere. It's yours. Mine was a hotel."

"Huh..." Abby didn't know if she bought it, but the woman seemed nice enough. Actually, she seemed like someone Abby would like quite a lot, under different circumstances. "A place? My lab!" Abby was sure that it was the only place that could have followed her. She loved that lab more than her apartment.

Rushing, Abby followed the map towards the dot. "Just how big is this place?"

"Reading you loud and clear." Sheppard spoke up at the tablet, pulling it out of his back pocket as he stood in line to get coffee. Sure, he could replicate it, but it was odd doing that.

Looked like a new arrival.

Military. They were mocking it at the very least. Abby had turned a corner and was trying to make sense of all of this.

"Reading me? You're reading me?!" Abby was pissed, and it was evident. "What the hell is this place?" She didn't like being lied to or being taken from her home.

"Yeah, you know... like I can hear you." Woah, backing off. Crazy woman.

"Taxon."

"I know what you mean. Are you the one that did this to me? Gibbs is going to kick your ass when he finds you."

...Eventually Bruce was going to have to get out and start talking to people. So here he went.

"Uh, yes. That is, yes, people can hear you. But not any of the people who brought you here. ...Sorry." It wasn't his fault that she'd been brought to Taxon, but still.

Abby glared at the screen. Another person telling her a whole lot of nothing. The man on the screen didn't seem exactly threatening though.

"Alright, but why am I here? Does anyone have any answers around this place?" She didn't like not having answers.

He squirmed a little under the glare, but continued nonetheless.

"Nobody knows why they're here. Whoever does... Well, they're not exactly forthcoming." Bruce had his own pocket theories, but he wasn't going to go sharing those. He just frowned sadly and shrugged. "I know it's hard to believe but. There you go."

Abby realized his reaction to her expression and immediately regretted it. It wasn't his fault she was here - or at least that's what he claimed. "So it's just... the way things are? You just... accept that?" Abby was a bit baffled by that.

"And this map isn't much help. I can't find this dot." She huffed, feeling a bit like crying.

Probing? Oh, I didn't even think of that! Bloody hell, I hope we don't get probed.

[Pause.] Er, hi there! I'm Tonks, welcome to Taxon!

Abby was a little surprised to hear a voice without a face to match it. Apparently these tablets projected without picture too? Interesting.

"Abby." She said, giving her name in response. "Thanks... I guess..."

Nice to meet you, Abby! So then, are you lost, need help, explanations, anything?

"Well, I mean... yeah. I don't understand any of this. Where am I? Why am I here? Who are you?" There wasn't enough time to get all of the questions out that she had lingering.

Giles is walking through the hall, carrying a stack of books with the top one open so he can read it as he moves. Lost in his research he almost didn't notice the woman coming towards him until the bright colors of her Caf Pow! cup caught his attention.

He looks up, a vague look in his eyes, as he steps to one side. "Oh. Sorry about that."

Abby glanced up just in time to side-step out of the way of the older man. "No harm done." She was still a little shaken up about this place. By now, she'd gotten enough of the low down from various people talking to her through the tablet to get the gist of what was going on. She still wanted to know who had done this to her and why, but the questions seemed pointless. No one seemed to know. Abby was already a little discouraged.

She eyed the large stack of books, and couldn't help but ask. "Alright, I'll bite. What're you reading?"
