005 [Location: Sunshine's apartment in Osten]

Fortified by tea, orange juice, and a somewhat stale muffin, Sunshine thought she may just have pulled herself into decent enough shape to accept a visitor. She was dressed, at least, and would be able to open the door and hold a conversation.

And maybe she'd be able to do this sort of thing more often again, if Charlotte's plan worked.

In the end, it would matter most what it was about the sun that the baker needed. She had a few ideas, but they could all be wrong. Or some odd combination of them could be right. In the end she packed a duffel that contained everything she could imagine would be even remotely useful. Her hope was to make something she could charge and leave with Sunshine. Recharging it would be easy.

She knocked briskly on the door, impatient to get in and figure this out. Unlike her little exercise in the park, this might be productive.

Sunshine opened the door almost immediately, she had been lingering near it. The relief she felt at the sight of Charlotte clear.

"Thanks for coming."

"Not a problem. I just had to clear my busy social calendar, tell that charity I wasn't going to be available just yet. They were crushed, but a girl has to have her priorities." She moved into the room, checking out Sunshine as best she could. Then she went to the nearest table. Her bag went down with a thunk. "So, tell me what it is about the sun that's so damn important?"

That speech earned a smile. "I'll have to cater their next event."

After a moment, Sunshine joined Charlotte at the table, falling into the chair opposite. She sighed. "It's the light." It felt like she had to pull the words out one by one, she was so used to keeping them back. "Sunlight is my element, I get sick without it. Really sick."
