Dexter's being nosy again. At least he doesn't feel as awkward about it, now that he's friends with Billy. He pops onto the screen, looking... well, nosy.
Goggles are pretty awesome, Billy. That's part of why River, after seeing his little accidental transmission, put on a pair of her own and crept off Serenity to go see what, exactly, he's up to.
To keep with the creeping and her growing reputation as a horrible sneaky troll that is up to no good, she very very quietly sneaks up behind him in his bubble of thoughts about math and blueprints and home and (Penny) portals.
Hello River, stop invading Billy's bubble, he's very particular about that. In the sense that he doesn't want you touching his things. Or, y'know. Him.
"Aah!" Billy squeaks, nearly dropping the gun but managing to catch it before it hits the ground. "What? I'm not-- oh. Hi River."
Sigh. She's going to tell him his math is all wrong, he just knows it.
He's actually kind of twitchy about that, fidgeting nervously at the lack of personal space, but he doesn't try to move or anything. He glances at her, adjusting his goggles.
Brooke is lying on her stomach on her bed, flipping through a Cosmo she hatched out, sucking a lollipop, and is clearly up to nothing resembling serious thought. She's bored.
Brooke gives them a look. She reminds him of...The first person that comes in her head is Bill Nye the Science Guy, for some reason. Did he wear goggles? He sounds like he should've worn goggles. Anywho...
"A project? You know there's no school here, right?"
So comparing Billy to Bill Nye is actually hilarious, even if Billy wouldn't think so. Billy doesn't like Bill Nye very much; he thinks he's sort of an insult to guys in lab coats everywhere.
"Duh," Billy replies distractedly. "It's for getting home."
"Holy camoly," Seamus says as he peers at the holo being projected. He wasn't exactly sure what the guy was working on, but the one thing that he did know was that he was both interested and impressed. "That's some bit of firepower that you got there."

"Working on something to get us all home."

"That's... ambitious. What is it?"

"A gun. Sort of. It's more like something that can make portals appear. I know it's possible, I just... have to figure out what it needs."

She's calm and collected and looking at his things, no matter how do not want he is about the idea of her getting close to them.
"You didn't answer," she says, looking back at him.

"Home." Is his simple reply.

Glancing down at his tablet, Billy sets down his pencil and peers over at it, trying to figure out who it is. Nobody he knows.
"Working on a project," he replies vaguely, reaching for his pencil so that he can erase something.
