Seeing as Dawn and River obviously do not cause enough trouble when left to their devices, they have joined forces. After the dance at the Hyperion-- and discovering they both used to dance-- they've been quickly becoming fast friends. And when Dawn decided they both needed to start dancing again, she dragged River out to a small studio she found ( Read more... )

Eric's found his way to Fangtasia, so in the background is an extremely kitschy looking vampire bar. He's looking rather bemused as he watches the little girls.

They're not teacup size, but close enough.

"How graceful." Of course, he's seen the vampire dancers from Blue Moon (and Black Moon, but that's hardly for 'children'), but they were decent. For humans.

Dawn takes a long sip of her water before answering. "I didn't mean to broadcast that. Settling in okay? Also, thank you."

Also, ffff, whatever Eric. Dawn and River are totally awesome.

"It wasn't unpleasant to watch." The smirk should let you know how not unpleasant. As if a vampire wouldn't like watching two fresh young things stretching their legs, with their delicious femoral arteries. "And yes, thank you."

Sure they are. For humans. ♥

Oh, PFFFFT, Eric. River heard that from her spot in the background and is going to ever-so-haughtily go En pointe with one foot while the other leg goes straight up over her head.

Meet Pam's new pet. She's very bendy. Don't get any ideas, though it's probably far, far too late for that.

As far as sports and recreation went, Uhura'd always been more interested in running than she had in dancing. That didn't mean she hadn't taken dance classes - her mother had had her enrolled in several classes when she was younger. As she got older, she'd dropped the dance classes in favor of track and sprinting practices, but as she'd grown into an adult, she'd been glad for the grace and agility dance had given her.

Music started blaring from her tablet, and so she picked it up to see which transmission it was coming from and smiled when she saw the two girls dancing, thought she was a bit surprised when she saw traditional ballet steps to the music that was coming through the tablet.

"Are you planning to practice a few styles, or sticking strictly to ballet?," she asked, hoping she wouldn't frighten the girls too terribly with her question.

No frightening! Dawn is kind of... terrifyingly social, sob. "Whatever we feel like. Ballet's the one we have the most in common, so we're starting there. Hi, I'm Dawn. I think I saw you at Cordy's party?"

"You probably did. Actually, I think I danced with your friend for a little bit," Uhura replied, pointing to the space behind Dawn. "And nice to meet you...sort of. I'm Uhura."

"I think River danced with everyone." Dawn grins fondly, because River is her new BFF4EVA and she's awesome like that. "You too, Uhura."

"River." Simon's grinning a little, here. "You're dancing again."

Here is a River with a bottle of water and a smile. "Hinges were in danger of rusting."

Fond smile echoes back on a very relieved Simon's face. "They look well-oiled now. Is that..." He searches for the other teenager's name. "Dawn?"

River is practicing her Fouetté en tournants. Not thirty-two, because unless you're actually doing Swan Lake it's a bit overkill, but she stops at around twenty and moves into a Grand plié before straightening up.

She is smiling.

My god, Dawn, what have you done?

Here, River, have a stuck out tongue. "Show off." But Dawn is grinning, and the quick series of Échappé sur les pointes is relaxed, and natural. She's not as amazing as River, but she can hold her own.

Dawn gets one right back. Rond de jambe next, followed by adagios. "Requires an audience," she says as she ever so steadily stretches her leg out behind her, then in front, then to the side and then back again, focusing on balance and smoothness of movement. Don't like it, don't look at it, Dawn.

Dawn sits for a moment, happy to just watch River. "You're amazing, you know that, right? Like okay, I'm really good. You're... I don't think I could make my body do some of that."

There's not much to hear except a warm chuckle as Giles watches the two girls dancing. It makes him happy to see Dawn acting so carefree.

Giles smiles at the young woman. "I'd almost forgotten you did ballet. You look lovely."

"It was a long time ago. I'm really rusty, it's kind of annoying." Baby girl, just accept the compliment. "But thanks, Giles. What's up? Enjoying the life of the less drunkfaced 24/7 now?"

Oh wow, Dawn. Way to be tactful.
