Things have been a little on the insane side of eventful recently at Taxon for Buffy, and she's feeling quite adrift. Generally at such times she finds the best solution is to locate the nearest vampire/demon and pummel them for a while to work out the kinks, but as there's a distinct lack of those, she's decided to seek refuge (read: avoid people

Then she saw Buffy. Had she realized whose grave Buffy sat beside, Charlotte never would have stopped. She did clear her throat softly before sitting down beside the petite blonde.

"Charlotte, hey-- sorry, I was... completely dead to the world for a minute there."

"Pretty fire balls might be nice though. You can really just... do those? Like poof, fire ball?"

When he first sees Buffy he assumes that she is like all the other people he's met today; almost void of personality or purpose. But that's not an excuse to be rude. "Hullo there. I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"

After a very brief pause as she scans his face, she adds. "We haven't met, have we? I'm Buffy."

"It's a pleasure, Buffy. I'm Gordon. I'm new here." He looks around them. "Wherever here is."

"It's nice to meet you too, Gordon." She nods, politely, then casts an echoing glance around. "Well, if we're talking specifics, here is the cemetery from my hometown. As for Taxon, your wild speculation is as good as mine."

"It's... quiet here. You can hear yourself think."

She pretty much literally stumbles over Buffy, and debates turning and running before she's noticed, because... awkward. But instead she settles on jamming her hands in her pockets and clearing her throat.
"We got monsters and nobody told me, B?"
Reply
"Not that I've noticed, and I've been here a while."

...Is awesome, she means. What a load off. She's not disappointed and hurt at all, no sir not Faith. Everything's wicked cool over here, la la la.
It's at that moment she sees the tombstone Buffy's chilling next to and blanches, slightly. Way to make this awkward shit even more awkward. Good job, Faith.
She cycles through a few different things to say before deciding on: "She was wicked classy, your mom."
What. She's trying, okay.

Strangely though, despite the epic abundance of awkward, Faith's attempt at... what? Comfort? Buffy appreciates it. Somehow it means a lot right now. "She really, really was." She agrees, smiling sadly down at the grass, before looking up at Faith again. "Thanks."
After another pause of awkward, she ventures, trying for casual. "So, what brings you to this neck of the not-woods? Nostalgia or shortcut?"

When he sees Buffy, he pauses, standing a few gravestones away. After a moment or so of debating, he moves closer and squats in front of Buffy, resting his elbows on his knees.
"Brooding's not a good look for you, Bendy."
Reply
"I'm not brooding. I'm... reflecting. Alone. In a cemetery. That's not brooding."
Reply
"Uh huh. Reflecting alone in a cemetery, beside a tombstone that has the name Summers on it," Dean says flatly. "S'not brooding at all. What's on your mind?"
Reply
"...I really don't think you want to know."
