There was grousing and annoyance at being taken away from her coffee coming from the tiny pink-haired person floating above Ace's tablet. It was enough to catch her attention, as was the girl's amusement in making someone 'have kittens' if they were here. Normally she wasn't one for greeting arrivals here - better to let other, more diplomatic people break them in. But she was intrigued enough to open her mouth. "What's a muggle?"
When Ace's voice comes up over the tablet, it scares the hell out of Tonks. She jumps, stumbles back, and nearly trips over her over-sized pajama bottoms, letting out a startled noise. Okay, so it was on. Recovering quickly, Tonks creeps closer, and then peers at the tablet again.
"A Muggle? Well, er..." Tonks makes a bit of a shifty face. "See, they're-- well, hm. I'm not really allowed to say, y'see. Unless you're a witch as well, which you aren't, since you've no idea what a Muggle is."
"Unless you know what a muggle is you can't know what a muggle is? What kind of bleeding logic is that." Sounded like something the Professor would say, actually.
"So I guess that makes you a witch then, huh? Haven't met one of those before."
"A bit more advanced than your average mobile, but it's similar. We usually call them tablets," Ianto tells her, putting down his own mug of coffee whilst he speaks to her. He suspects it would be cruel to keep drinking it when she appears to have just been separated from her first mug of the day.
"As for your coffee, you should be able to get another one from the hatches after you've left the room you're in. The doors should just open for you, now that you've got your tablet."
Oh, a little person! Tonks blinks at the mini-Ianto, and then runs a hand through her short hair, looking thoughtful. Tablet, not quite a mobile, go through the door, opens because of the tablet. Easy enough.
"Right then," she replies, picking up the tablet and examining it. "These-- what'd you call them, hatches? These hatch-things, what's the spell for getting coffee?"
Pause. "Also, not to be a bother, but you wouldn't happen to know why I can't Apparate, would you?"
Ianto blinks a little at that, still not used to the whole magic thing, even though he knows there are quite a few people in Taxon who use it. "Spell? There... isn't one, actually. You just put your hand on the hatch, think it, and it appears."
Apparate? The word's unfamiliar, and yet Ianto's sure he's heard it before. It only takes him a matter of moments to remember who's told him about it before, and he remembers it's a sort of teleportation. "I would imagine that's got something to do with our captors not wanting us to leave," he tells her, pausing a moment before he continues. "You wouldn't happen to know a Luna, would you?"
Well then. Tonks is intrigued by the idea of these hatches, and will be investigating immediately, heading out through the door and barely noticing it opening by itself. Even if Ianto hadn't told her about it, she wouldn't have given it a second thought.
"Captors?" Tonks asks, blinking. "I was only joking about the kidnapping bit. It's really true?"
Pause. Luna, Luna... oh! "Oh, yes, Luna! Luna Lovegood, she's a friend of Harry's! She's here?"

"Suppose it does. We're supposed to keep the magic thing quiet, causes a ruckus with the Muggles if we don't."

Tonks it is. And... I guess? I mean, it's basically a Blackberry with a few upgrades, so the shine is kind of worn-off on my end.

I suppose you've figured out that it isn't a mobile?
