Helen watched the ceiling of the elevator. Her fingers drummed on the daily roster in her hands as she waited for her destined floor. Things had certainly taken a turn for the worst as of late. Having clinically died and returned thanks to Will's brilliant plan in the submarine was something she never wanted to relive. Now she understood what had ( Read more... )

Oh, that was a familiar feeling. Having just arrived himself, the newcomer's sentiment hearkens back to his own. He recalled wanting to mutter 'bloody hell' in rapid succession, actually, as though it were at all likely to change the outcome.

Finch was still trying to understand this strange 'tablet' device, but had gotten the hang of it enough to be able to communicate. He was still trying to get used to utilizing it for navigational purposes. Having taken up residence in one of the empty flats in the Sanctuary, Finch happened to be wandering past when the young woman appeared.

"I just got here myself, not a day ago. This place is called Taxon," Finch offered, not feeling at all helpful. It was just a basic recitation of facts, the same thing he had been told when he'd arrived. But he could do his best to be friendly, at least.

Helen turned to face the man that had addressed her. She smiled and lowered her hand with the tablet resting in it comfortably. Her heels clicked against the floor as she made her way over to him in a friendly manner.

"Seems that we have a commonality then." She offered. "Though it also seems that several people here are helpful and willing to help."

"The few I've met so far have been friendly," Finch agreed. He'd only been here a day so far, and it was all still quite disorienting. The fortunate thing, as this newcomer had remarked on, was that on the whole, most people here seemed to be helpful, making it easier to get acclimated.

"Eric Finch," he offered his hand. "Where are you from?"

With a smile she took his hand and gave it a delicate shake. She was a lady after all. "Dr. Helen Magnus. My organization is based in New York, but I myself come from England."

"Many, actually. I have also been in formed the city is in an underground cave of sorts. Not somewhere I thought I'd be finding an existence in. Not to mention the main variety of abilities people have here."

Helen wasn't in front of the tablet. It was set to the side on a table behind her as she prepared dinner. The tablet was a very useful device but it wasn't needed to cook.

"Of course, not everyone is ... well, abnormal." Helen mused at the phrase. "But there are a significant amount in this world and at home. It is rather hard to ignore it."

She turned and picked up the tablet, placing it on the counter with a smile. Though she returned her attention to dicing the vegetables in front of her as their conversation continued.

"Do you have something wrong against abnormalities?"
