Puppy!!

So, Mike and I got a dog. He's been settling in well.  We've had a few challenges, of course.  The biggest one is he, as most labs, is incredibly food oriented.  Foster actually ended up being crated for dinner the past two nights, for sticking his nose (and tongue!) where it doesn't belong.   And, again like most labs, he's incredibly high energy

i can not tell you how happy i am that things are going so well.
so very happy!!!!!!

I love the upside down pic too. It killed me, cuz his little teefies were sticking out, and I couldn't get a pic to come out where you could see that. =(

Awesome, I meant to ask you about the doggie backpack. All the ones I'd found to this point looked wimpy. I'd like to get one soon, so we can get him used to having it on. And so we can practice getting it on, too! We still do daily battle with the halter. ;-)

oh! also- i had meant to tell you that REI is where we got marue's "ruff wear" doggie backpack. it is the most durable and functional one we've had.
in general, it's best to wait until dogs are 2 years old before asking them to carry any kind of weight.
for training- i can show you the world's easiest and very effective recall training. it's fun to do too :)
next time we're on the phone remind me and i'll explain.
