Also, if you have links to more readable versions of the Crow documents, I'd be highly appreciative. I can just about make out the typed text of the second one, and most of the first, but the marginalia on both are inscrutible at this resolution.

Obviously that Simon was dangerous threat for Christian Church of that time, maybe because of that teaching which results in following Gnosticism.
I don’t know was that accuse about buying secrets rooted in anything - I don’t accept it as a sign of good health for owner of secret in any form, usual New Age trade or usual paying for favours in One? Thelemists? Order? (O?T?O?).

Anyway, the couple of stories about Simon in the New Testament are probably fictional efforts to trash a rival religious cult to Christianity as it has come down to us. Simon seems to have had it right from what little we know about him, and was very much in the authentic tradition. All the story about the meeting in Samaria indicates to me is that at some early point, Simion and the wandering wonder workers called the apostles probably talked about working together. For this journal entry, I had thought of adding an essay on Simon, but there wasn't room. I may post it at some point.
