1. Pokemon Update: 3 Badges and 73 Pokemon seen in my Pokedex. Team: Monferno, Luxio, Starvaria, Floatzel, Roselia and Pachirisu. (The later two are because I'm after the Water Gym leader next - regular team involves a steady levelling up of Bronzor and carrying an egg)

2. ( My Sun Jar is working and pretty )

The sun jar is very pretty.

I only just got Pokémon Pearl, and I have 0 badges and 9 entries in my Pokédex. Still. So much joy! I haven't played Pokémon since Gold/Silver. I also lose geek points for not recognising the names of any of the Pokémon on your team. Sniff.

You'll recognise them eventually. There's some very cute Pokemon this time out. Actually the percentage of cute to uncute seems higher than usual.

I love the game so much, really. I often forget how much I enjoy Pokemon - despite the times where you have to grind levels and it becomes a little soul-destroying.

The first time I played it on a real gameboy (not until sapphire/ruby/emerald) was a bit of a shock - up till then I was used to playing it on an emulator, and the grinding part is so much less annoying when you can put the game on 10x speed.

It was awesome. I'm thinking I've got to e-mail into the show and tell the lads that I've someone how been indoctrinated into the Cult of Lawro without ever seeing the man on television.

What is a sun jar exactly??

A Sun Jar essentially has a low-wattage orange bulb hooked up to a solar-recharged battery and a light sensor. It's stores energy from the sun throughout the day and when it starts getting dark the light sensor switches it on.

Thus it looks like you have a little bit of Sun in a Jar. You can buy them from I Want One of Those.
