I do the same with my friends...have trouble keeping them close, I mean. Which probably hasn't helped you and I get together any. :) But, for the record, I still adore you and one of these days I WILL venture forth in to the big bad social scene and visit you in Salem. Promise!
I know we don't hang out much outside of work and a game every other week, but I consider you a very close friend of mine. And not just because of your relationship with my best friend or the fact that we work together. You're not "Nick's girlfriend Jess" or "my coworker/boss Jess," you are "my friend Jess."
