how did you get the color to be so pretty?

I play with the brightness and contrast first of all. Then I put the image on top of itself as a soft light layer and adjust the opacity until I like it. Then, if the color still doesn't look right, I play with the color balance. Usually I highlight pieces at a time and adjust the color that way.

But it all depends on the picture :)
