My first earthquake

Nov 06, 2011 09:35

Thanks to a 5.6 earthquake in central Oklahoma that happened while I was awake, about 157 miles from where I live in Kansas. There have been several in that area in the last two days, but have been smaller or I've slept through them, thanks to work tiring me out.

It was an interesting experience.

This time it's them dern Okies sending their tremors north - they've had close to 30 quakes anywhere between 2.5 and 5.6 since late Friday, most of them in the 3 to 3.9 area. I was at Todd's kitchen table Sat night when the table started shaking, and my immediate assumption was a low flying plane, but then there was no noise and it lasted at least a couple of minutes =P
