Secluded part of the beach [Tuesday]

Luke ignored the little voice chanting "last time, last time" over and over again in his head as he made his way down towards the beach.

He was going to make the most of the time he had left on the island.

And for a desert boy, time spent staring at water was time well wasted.

Besides, he'd never seen any gremlins down by the beach.

Evey'd been spending a fair amount of her time at the beach, if only because...well, fault her for enjoying the outdoors. It stemmed, she suspected, if and when she allowed herself to reflect, from being trapped indoors for so long.

Not to mention the various weights on her thoughts, which hadn't been anywhere near lifted in spite of turning into a pony and the island moving from Greece to France (though she would have to go explore at some point.) So, it should not have been surprising to find her sitting with her back to a rock, staring out at the water and thinking.

Luke stopped short when he came closer. "Evey?" he called quietly. "Would you like some company?"

Evey glanced over at him, managed a little smile, and replied, "It's not just my beach. I'm fairly certain I can share it. Hello."

"Hi," Luke replied, smiling back and finding a spot to sit not too far away. "Maybe you found the best spot and didn't want anyone to know about it."
