Yeah good luck trying for Mitsuru in the first playthrough (It's possible just a pain). It's kind of a pain to focus on academics when you have to lvl up your characters. First time around playing Persona 3 I choosed Chihiro. Her s-link is pretty easy to finish. The fat guy is a pretty decent s-link for personas later on so you should give him a chance if you want better persona.
I already have Academics maxed :D the 'tired' thing works differently in p3p so i tend to zoom through what area of tartarus is open in one, maybe two, nights. ;;
