I seem to be unable to communicate in anything but outline or bullet format lately. So:

1) You said "tonne." Tehe! Every now and then your British spelling gives me a happy moment. ;-D

2) Being sick sucks. Being sick the way you describe sounds like hell. Do they still sell the good sudafed up there? They're only selling the wimpy version for children here - this has made me VERY unhappy as Sudafed has always been my magic pill.

3) Thank God your mom is being so awesome and such a huge help while you're packing up!

4) I can't believe how soon until you're leaving!!!

Hah, if I'd just have let her loose at everything, it would probably be finished by now. I wouldn't necessarily have kept things I wanted to, and there would be things kept that I'd rather get rid of, though. LOL.

I dunno about the "good" Sudafed. They sell a few different kinds, and that is what I take - the Sudafed PE, which are small red pills. And I get that one mainly b/c it's the only one I can get that's JUST the decongestant. Most have either Tylenol or Advil in the pill as well, and I don't want a pain reliever when I don't need one. I prefer to control my dosage of any kind of medication on an individual basis. Nyquil is the one exception, but only because no other cough medicine does much for me. Not even the Dayquil which unfortunately means that I can only do so much during the day and mainly hold off the worst of the coughing by drinking tea and sucking on Halls. *eyeroll*

Two weeks today. ohgodohgodohgod...

Totally agree with you on why I like Sudafed! I don't like having tylenol, etc, in my cold meds. I'll dose myself separately on that stuff, thank you very much. ;-)

The Sudafed PE is the milder stuff, though.

From Wikipedia: Sudafed PE...does not include pseudoephedrine. Sudafed PE contains a different decongestant called phenylephrine ...original Sudafed is still offered.

I like the original Sudafed much better. I don't know about Canada, but in the US you have to buy Sudafed from the pharmacist, even though it's NOT a prescription med. They just make you show your drivers' license before selling it to you, since apparently they're worried about people buying pseudoephedrine in mass quantities in order to make speed. Seriously. LOL!

But I'm still partial to the original stuff. Seems to work much faster and be far more powerful.

It's all on the shelf here, not even OTC. You can just pick it up and pay for it at the regular cashier. And you're right, for most people pseudoephedrine is the better option, but it's never worked that well for me. The most effective one for me was phenylpropanolamine, which was in a product called Ornade, that was pulled off the market several years ago b/c it was discovered to cause heart palpitations or something. (I forget now; I never exhibited any symptoms of the whatever it was.) Anyway, as the PE is also phenyl-based, it seems to work a bit better for me even if it's not as long-lasting.

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow, Tas. You have too much to do to be sick! *hugs*
