I made the mistake of following matociquala's link to Shadow Unit, eeeeee. Instead of me explaining it, I'll let her do it in detail. BUT, her short form is, "Shadow Unit is, more or less, the website for a serial drama in internet form. Or possibly it's a fan site for a TV show that doesn't exist." Except, y'know, it's kind of a fannish/original blendy thing ( Read more... )

a Round-the-World plane ticket, which gives you a one-shot price for plane-hopping around to do exactly that.

>.> *would abso-fucking-lutely do that to follow allllllllll the F1 races next season if, a) she had the money for alllll the tickets, b) the races had some sort of geographical consecutiveness and didn't just go all over the fucking place, c) she didn't have other shit that she probably should be getting on with, like work and uni*

*pets* RL can be most inconvenient, agreed. Semi-relatedly, some but not all British airports are allowing 2 carry-ons as of yesterday. ;)

I know a lot of people who have used these tickets, flying from Australia it's normally cheaper to get one than single flights to Asia then Europe. My friend went Melbourne-LA-Tampa-New York-Prague-Beijing -Melbourne last year for about $2100AUD...which is about the same cost of a return to New York!!

The rules are simple, you can't back track and have to land on a certain number of continents...normally North America, Europe and Asia for us. It's a great way of going to places you didn't think you'd visit.
