Procrastination through posting, gotta love it. :P I need to tidy/clean the disaster area that my living room became through the Christmas preparation process, and yes it does need to be done today because the cable guy's coming tomorrow so he needs to be able to like, walk to the TV and get in behind there. LOL. Which means temporarily moving my ( Read more... )

I completely agree with you about Doctor Who. After a brief stint of thinking it was going to be my Next Big Thing, I've realized it's just a show I like to watch--and honestly, now that I've discovered music fandom, I don't really feel the need to revert to my old standard of TV/book/video game fandoms--bandom is just so much more fun! Also I find the Old Who very boring, in no small part because I am clearly not its intended audience.

I have no idea who King Diamond is but just based on that title I need to read the fic. *runs off to do so*

You know...I definitely see Whofandom as being a strange place. I honestly find Old School fans to be extremely scary and intimidating. Particularly because I'm a New Who fan who has ZERO interest in Old Who.

I say that, but I have an Old Who miniseries from netflix right now, simply because I was idly curious to just see HOW bad it is...I've only watched 1 30 minute chunk (since I had no power) and it's pretty God-awful. I have zero interest in really digging in any further.

And seriously...that post you linked to? Is exactly why I'm never going to write a fic that REQUIRES background knowledge of Old Who. Because I'm frankly a little put off by even going looking for the info.

Lastly, I've been doing some mental flailing and mild hyperventilating today regarding some plans I'm making

Intrigued but will wait patiently for the rest :-]

My first Doctor was Tom Baker. We followed the series for a few years then kind of forgot about it after we moved to Nashy. I've seen some of the newer shows, but not current by any stretch.

I just made a feed out of it: askthepunkprof :)

ETA: Or actually somebody else did and I just found it. Lol. On this page you can search for the feed by rss address or create a feed if the search comes up with nothing.

The only other season of DW I want to see is McCoy's Doctor - I have vague memories of seeing him on TV as a kid, but I was too scared of the Daleks to watch the show properly, lol. :D
