Rye and coke

That's my preferred poison, as it is for both my parents, my godparents, my cousins, several friends... lol. Actually, I also prefer Pepsi because as angela_o educated me, Pepsi > Coke because vanilla > cinnamon for my personal tastes. But if I order it at a bar, I just ask for a rye and coke because whatever sort of cola they have on tap is what I'll get ( Read more... )

a rye and coke themed post? I'm there! =)

When in the states, I usually order CC and coke, because Canadian Club seems to be an easy brand to find. I actually prefer Wisers but sometimes they look at you like you have two heads when you say that. And then you can always go with Crown Royal as well, but it seems a sin to put coke in it. lol

I am awaiting the response from the UK contingent on your question there. I'm most interested to see the answer. =)

A lot of Canadian places didn't used to know Wiser's either, lol. I usually ask for either Crown or Seagram's VO in the States; I really don't like CC that much.

Sylv appears to have field-tested it before. *points down* :D

According to the ever wise Mother, you would in fact get a whiskey and Coke. I'm not sure how well you'd do with Canadian whiskeys (she thinks Crown Royal is sold here, but Bushmills is for definite). M'not a whiskey drinker, so I'm no help in this department, heh.

D'oh, of course your mother would know. Haha I totally didn't even think about that. But hey, I'm totally fine with Bushmills or Jamieson Irish, and I figured that at least one of those would be available seeing as it's a lot closer to ship to than Canada. ;-)

You drink mostly cider, yes? The only proper cider we have here is Strongbow; the rest is ungodly sweet Americanised cooler-type cider. *shudders* I get a can of Strongbow every so often, though. I like it okay.

Mostly cider, more than occasionally rum with a mixer and occasionally dark ale. And we have waaaay better stuff than Strongbow, rest assured - Magners, Bulmers, Kopparberg and Scrumpy Jack (though I've yet to try the latter) are all highly recommended over Strongbow. :)

Rum + mixer is my # 2 choice, so long as it's not white rum - too harsh. *ponders* I do believe I still have half a bottle of Appleton Estate gold in my cupboard, in fact. Should do something about that sometime. And I've had good cider before, at a microbrewery, so I know that it's totally something I *would* drink if I actually had decent access to it.

Bwahahahaha had someone ask that before, did you? Or did you have a lovely drunken afternoon? *grins* Sooooo, The George is where I'd wanna go then I guess. Heh, "skinny or fat coke" - never heard that before. Fat coke, dammit! I am, naturally, allergic to aspartame. *rolls eyes* My mother would go to The Boot, though; she's an ice freak.

Tas,
You're going to have to compile a list of questions that you need answering and send it to me. I'll then pluck up the courage to go out one afternoon and ask your questions and await the replies or blank stares, whichever are forth coming. ( Please don't make me ask about Bras though! )

David xx

Heehee, David, I would not do that to you. (I suspect you wouldn't understand the answers anyway! ;-D) But if I think of anything else good that might be a wee bit more appropriate, I'll send it your way. ♥
