When I first joined LJ last April, I remember beni0404 telling me that it was a cross between communication and self-expression. I've never forgotten that phrasing because it's soooooo true. I've kept a diary in some form or another since the fifth grade, albeit sporadically, so it shouldn't really have surprised me the way it did that I've glommed onto

I am very good at figuring out what other people's best course of action might be and explaining it to them, particularly once I've gotten to know them reasonably well........The thing is, I'm also inversely proportionately shitty at figuring anything out for myself, lol. Stuff that blinks like a neon sign over a friend's head is totally dark over my own.

I think this is pretty common. I certainly know it's true for me. All my friends know I give the best, most reliable, level-headed advice....except when it comes to my own problems, then I'm a total fuck-up! LOL.
