When you see this, post a little weensy excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y.
Scene 3
Sound of phone ringing. Ringing stops. Lights go back up on SHAY's bedroom. SHAY is asleep, fully-clothed, on her bed. MOM is standing over SHAY, shaking her awake.
MOM:
Shay... Charlotte, wake up.
SHAY:
What? What time is it?
MOM:
Shay, Aiden's mom is on the phone.
SHAY:
Why's she calling at...
SHAY glances at the clock and sits up suddenly. She grabs the phone out of MOM's hand. MOM stands anxiously off to the side.
SHAY:
Hello? What's wrong?
Beat.
SHAY:
What?
Blackout.
- The Angel Story or The Story With the Really Long Alternative Title:
I picked up the file and sighed; another kid. I stood up and ran after the woman who had just handed it to me.
"Gabriel, you know I have trouble--"
"I need you to get this one, Malaika. I'm short on Collectors today. I've got three natural disasters to take care of already," she said as she quickly distributed files to other occupied cubicles.
"Gabriel, please?" I asked.
She stopped walking and turned to face me, "Malaika, if you don't collect this one, I'm going to have to demote you, and I don't want to do that. Just get this one and I'll request that you're transferred to Re-Birth by next week."
I sighed, I'd been doing that a lot lately.
"Fine. I'll get it, but I want that transfer," I said.
Gabriel rolled her eyes as she turned away, "Go get 'em tiger," she called over her shoulder.
- The Spork Story That I May Actually Write Someday:
Spock rounded the corner and fired his phaser once into the man's chest. And then twice more into his dead body just for good measure. Spock seemed to have trouble controlling his emotions in situations involving the Captain, who he quickly unchained from the wall and carefully lifted into his arms. Had he been conscious, Jim surely would've protested being carried in such a manner, but seeing as he was not and any other method might've jarred his injuries, Spock concluded that he had nothing to worry about.
"Beam us up, Mr. Scott."
I actually have some other stuff I could put up, but it is suuuuper embarrassing, so, uh, NO.
