The English language often makes no sense.

OK - I was just doing something at work...and it was brought to my attention that Polish (like the people from the country of Poland) and polish (like car polish, polishing the furniture), are pronounced differently, but spelled the same ( Read more... )

Linguistics and etymology are things you could look at for years and still have your lifetime to figure everything out. And from what I've learned English is easier than many languages. I listened to a lecture series on the history of language, and English, though not simple, is not near as complex as some.

I haven't seen Talking Canadian yet. I know Matthew's seen parts of it, and it sounds great. I'll definitely have to check it out.

I'm really busy right now, going on vacation tomorrow and lots else going on, but if I have time for coffee sometime soon, I'll let you know.
