I don't know, I mean Usagi's saved the world multiple times, so one would think that she could handle herself if anything bad happened. Mamoru might just try to say something educational to them, and that never ends well for anyone. On the other hand, you really can't go wrong with a dude who knows how to bash someone in the head with a cane, and he probably wouldn't attract nearly as much attention by just existing.
