My first chai experience was actually trying Lipton Indian Chai with milk and sugar. I'm not really into adding milk and sugar to my tea, but... this one particular combination seemed so tasty that I decided to try something more

I just cut off a piece, peel it and slice/cut it XD That's all.
Actually it's a mix of milk and water and spices in my case. I boil it up, add tea leaves and boil everything up again. I need to do it slowly as I'm skilful at burning stuff ^^;
You mean it like tea with garlic? @__@ Sounds like some crazy combination.
Sure, go ahead XD But I admit that at my latest try part of the liquid just mysteriously disappeared from the pot >.>; I suppose there was something wrong with milk after all.
I saw the Lipton chai in shop, but decided to go without because a) usually Lipton pyramid bags will be left gathering dust on my shelves and b) I have banned myself from buying new tea for now.
Initially I had this silly idea in my mind that since I don't like tea with milk I should use as little milk as possible. It turned out the opposite was true.
I think I like both mild and spicy chai as long it isn't watery. I plan to find something that is somewhere in between next.

How did you prepare the ginger? Right now all i could think of is the raw kind with the funny shape. XD
Brining the water to a boil slowly sounds like a good idea. I never knew that before so thank you for the tip.

Thank you! There are also powdered and paste forms of garlic. It would be interesting to try those kinds as well and see which one would be best. :)
It's great that we're making chai tea using different methods. I'll try your way since mine was simply "boil and pour". XD

I can see that *nods* That's more less what I did myself.
I don't quite have any comparison to "watery" chai, so I'm quite pleased with my results. For now at least.
