Sadly unsurprising. Certainly chairs get taken away. When I went to Iceland I was met in Reykjavik with a self-propel chair that was for a very very big person - about a foot too wide for me so VERY hard for me to push, plus Mike had to take both our bags so he couldn't help push. Then on the way back I was met at Gatwick with an "attendant" chair that I couldn't push, and was just rushed through by a woman who was assigned to push me but didn't ask me how I liked to be pushed or anything like that.

I was particularly disgusted to hear of inappropriate assistance for people who are usually independent with their chairs - if equipped with one of these chairs, not independent! And the masses of people commenting who are just saying, get over it, it's an airline that makes it special (or something stupid).
