New shoes of purpleness

I have cool shoes.  They are very pleasing.

I am massively impressed by the shop and the sales person who totally did not try to 'sell' but listened to what I want, listened to my feedback about how the shoes were fitting and understood that something I slipped out of was not going to work.

And I ended up with this: www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7372106/c/7.Read more... )

I know how hard it is to find nice shoes; I wear men's flat sandals pretty much all year round, only reverting to trainers or boots if there's actual snow on the ground, since I don't want frostbitten toes! But it's impossible to find anything "smart" which is flat, comfortable and won't fall off or make me change my gait.

Yesterday I went to the pub barefoot. My husband said nothing. He's brilliant. :)

Your husband is indeed awesome by the sound of things!

Something I like about the look of a lot of the shoes in the store I went to (not these shoes though) is they are designed to take orthotics so the shaped sole comes out. You can leave it out, or put a thin/flat one in there instead.

The shop did not contain many things with even a wedge heel (heels etc are available, but the major market of these brands, it seems, is people who need good footwear for a reason).

They are not cheap. Totally not cheap. I paid $195 for these. More than I've ever paid for shoes before.
