Maybe this is bad form, but for those of you who don't read my music blog, I've posted a song. If you're into this stuff, I'd love it if you took a listen. I'm still thinking on ideas for production, so I'd love to have any feedback you folks have, as long as you are nice. Here is the entry in question.

What bad form? The piece sounds very much like you. I enjoyed it. What sort of feedback are you wanting? If you email me the lyrics, I can listen while reading them and comment on that part, if you like. I think the topic, melody, movement, and words work well together.

hey! I'm glad you enjoyed! I'm probably not going to make any major changes to the lyrics at this point, but I can send them to you anyway if you like. I'm moreso looking for ideas in terms of production - instruments that might be interesting to add, effects that might be cool in said spot, that kind of thing.

It's pretty. Reminds me very much of Sarah McLachlan.

I'm not convinced about the addition of a tam tam. I can see the fiddle a bit more...

I like the ideas of some strings of some sort, maybe sparse fiddle because I really like the piano, I'd like to hear something lower than a fiddle, a little more bass to underline the piano. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have to google tam tam to hear what they were like. I guess I'd really need to hear what you have in your mind for them to really know. For me when I thought of percussion while listening to this I thought of listening to rain/wind. Kind of like the different phases of a storm, a spattering of light rain, but in some spots the song almost breaks into a thunder storm. More of a thematic/dramatic use of percussion than a big beat to distract from the core of what is already there. Maybe some airy sound to go with it. That's about as vague and non useful as I think I can be right now.

hey, thanks for the suggestions!

hmm, I'm actually kind of with you on the lower strings, but since it's about a fiddler I think I'm going to have to stick with a fiddle in there somewhere, even if it is accompanied by another, lower instrument as well.

woah, storm percussion! that is such a cool idea! I'll play with that and see what happens. thanks again!
