I dunno what kind of facilities you have out there, and am at a point in my collection were I'm only looking for vintage stuff (like '93 at the very newest)... but it would be really good if you could take all that e-junk to a recycling depot or some equivalent for safe disposal. Lots of plastics, heavy metals, and toxic materials that shouldn't be sitting in a normal dump if at all possible ;}
I misspoke. The boxes will be going to a transfer station, and Waste Management is picking up the bags. If I had the time and facilities to do that to the rest I would, but really, I'm more or less dealing with the aftermath of a minor hoarder here.
Also, if I don't deal with it NOW, while I have the momentum, it won't get dealt with, and I won't have the use of that space. I have my own issues with getting overwhelmed by the mess, so I have to act while I have the urge. I'm finding masses of artwork, and no idea what to do with any of it, except to marvel at how really talented he was, and miss him all over again.
"not going to rain" depends very much on the track of Hurricane Earl, which may come our way or be pushed out to sea. Check your favorite newscast or The Weather Channel for prognosis.

Good luck getting rid of stuff! I'm a hoarder too, so I totally feel for you.
