Truth be told, this isn't the first time I've woven. I learned to weave on an inkle loom when I was 10 or 11, and warped and wove on a tabletop harness loom in middle school. I've always wished I could do more. I want to weave on a big floor loom, but I'll probably never get to. The studio I learned at is still open. I don't know if you've ever been to Fiber Loft in Harvard, but the owner, Reba, taught me, and it's now a lovely yarn shop as well as a weaving studio.
This will help me achieve my extremely long-term goal of making a set of Viking clothing from the skin out, including trim and shoes. The only bits I don't want to make are the metal bits... not sure about the beads. This is a start, though.
