I've had fun tracking down and sharing these early interviews. It's like stepping into a time machine and visiting fandom during the years I missed the first time around, since I didn't start watching the show until later. I'm so glad you're enjoying them, too!
The fact that we (and Clark) get to meet Future!Clark is so freaking awesome that I can't believe we're only finding out about it now. Can we PLEASE skip Supergirl and go straight to Homecoming? GAH!
I know! I've been excited for everything we've heard about Homecoming: the nostalgic look back, the glimpse of the future, and the reunion itself. And James Marsters' return, of course. But I had no idea that Clark was going to see and possibly interact with his future self, I can't wait to see that!
Thanks for the old interview. God, he was so precious! I think its such a shame that he cut himself off from interviews for so long. He really comes across as humble and genuine and intelligent in them. Seems to me his work ethic comes very much from his Dad.
I'm trying not to think too much about upcoming eps.
I agree, the more of these old interviews with him I read, the more impressed I am with him. I joined fandom just as the drought was starting, so it's been such a treat to find all of these now.
I don't want to discount the choices Tom makes every day to be the incredible man he is, but his parents obviously raised him right. His combination of professionalism, hard work, generosity, decency, and kindness is exceedingly rare, and almost unheard of in someone who has achieved his level of celebrity.
