Thanks so much for saying that! *hugs* And I understand completely about RL, I have the same situation. This past week it's been all I can do to post these interviews and keep up with the comments on them. I haven't had much time to make comments anywhere else. :(
You're more than welcome, Carol! I'm glad you're finding them useful. You know, I recently decided to start putting the interviews I find in my journal, because there have been so many times when I wanted to refer back to one and couldn't find it again.
I appreciate that Justin is willing to make the rounds. I'm with you, I would be thrilled if Tom could do just one. I think we're missing a voice for Clark that only he can provide.
I think in this fandom the Girl Code is used in a very self-serving manner, and almost never applied with any consistency. It amazes me that people purport to cite it in all seriousness, when their agenda is so patently transparent.
I'm sad Chlarkers have such a bad rep in this fandom. There seem to be so few people left who are still watching the show and who still like both Chloe and Lois. :(
He says what Chloe is looking for is more Oliver's speed than what Lois needs, which is hardly a ringing endorsement for the relationship, if you ask me. He can't measure up to what Lois needs in a man, but what he has to offer is fine for Chloe, because she's not asking for all that much? He makes it sound like they're friends with benefits. :/
I'm just going to have to see how the Chlollie plays out before I decide how I feel about it. And I don't know how Oliver feels about this new relationship, but from this interview I don't get the impression that Justin's all that jazzed about it. Or maybe it doesn't make any more sense to him than it does to me right now.
I want the old, happy Chloe back, too. I feel like they've transferred Oliver's traditional role of making snide remarks to Clark for no apparent reason, which I've always hated, to Chloe now. Why do the writers feel the need to take unwarranted potshots at the hero of the story? It baffles me.
I'm afraid "friends with benefits" is EXACTLY where they're going with this, which ... *sigh*. I didn't want it to be "true love" or anything, but seriously? This is just going to make both of look bad. Well, worse than they look right now. D:
OK, I haven't done this yet, but since there are so many of them, I have to pick at it a bit and complain. Because...well, because I'm Me, Hello! ;)
TVGuide.com: Would you want to see him with Chloe over Lois? Hartley: No, it's not like he prefers Lois. It's an interesting thing because he's got the love of his life in Lois, and she's happy now. It sounds so cliché, "I just want to see you happy," but I think that Oliver understands that he can't make a woman like that happy and give her what she needs. He's just not that man. What Chloe is asking for is a little bit different; it's more Oliver's speed. Not to downplay it or say it's a convenient thing, they're definitely comfortable together and they understand each other and don't have to put on a front.IDK. I think anyway you squint and look at this one, it sounds like Oliver is settling for Chloe because he can't have Lois, and apparently Chloe won't ask much from him. Pardon me while I swoon over how romantic that is *rolls eyes* Why are they bothering with this? It just
( ... )
I agree with what you're saying in that it does seem very Ollie-centric, but I do get the feeling that if this interview had been with Tom, we'd be getting a lot more Clark-centric stuff talked about. But our guy remains elusive as ever ...
I agree that the fact that it's Justin being interviewed makes a difference. It's hard to tell how much of the Oliver emphasis in the spoilers that Justin shares is because of his obviously Ollie-centric perspective, and how much is simply reflective of the writing. I wish we could hear Tom's perspective as well.
I just don't see the point of an Oliver/Chloe romance. I like it when they work together as colleagues, as they did in Siren, but not when they're dissing Clark behind his back, as they did at the end of Roulette. I have to see how it actually plays out.
Justin's interviews are definitely all about Oliver, but of course that's natural. It's hard to say how reflective of the show his viewpoint is. That's one of the main reasons I wish Tom would help to promote the show, too. Lately it seems like we never get Clark's POV, onscreen or off. :/

JH surely gives a lot of interviews, doesn't he? I wish Tom did at least one!

IDK, I'm excited, but I'm also slightly nervous, especially with regards to Chloe. I just want my old, happy Chloe back. D:
