Oh no! You are being sucked into the HORRIBLE world of FAIRY TAIL!!! DDDDD:
XP Nah, just kidding. Truth is, I used to hate it until some months ago, and have now pretty much caught up with recent chapters. What had (re)attracted me to it was the Jellal/Erza ship (yes, I'm a fan 8D) because of my guilty love of Foe Yay. I also love other shippings that I won't mention yet since they may spoil some things for you, but unlike most of the fanbase I'm not much of a Natsu/Lucy fan- in fact, my perception of there being a total lack of ship tease between them (and my dislike of Lucy overall) made me hate the series when I had first tried it. Then I heard about Jellal/Erza, and...the rest is history. XD
If there's anything you wanna ask me about it, don't hesitate! I have my ups and downs with this series, and I have a problem with the blatant fanservice from time to time, but overall I agree that its pretty nifty! :)
Hee. Fairy Tail is right up my alley in terms of animes. It's set in a fantasy world, it has lots of characters to follow and fall in love with, it's funny, it's dramatic, it's relatively well-paced (my issues about the big climaxes happening in the middle of episodes aside)... Really it was only a matter of time before the series and I got acquainted.
...because of my guilty love of Foe Yay.Foe Yay... right. Great. I'm in trouble then, because I usually don't go for those kinds of ships. I mean, I normally only like Hero/Villain pairings when there's clear attraction from both sides (i.e. Batman/Catwoman or Speedy/Cheshire). Well I guess I'll see what all the fuss is about when I get up to those episodes
( ... )
Hmm...well, you are pretty much right about the fanservice being overall balanced (until it gets amped to ridiculous levels on certain future chapters- well, at least to my eyes. x.x) And I'm gonna warn you, once you catch up to certain chapters you're probably going to scream over some things (and it won't be the fanservice -_-).
But as for the Foe Yay, I guess I'll spoil you a little to say, "Don't Worry." It gets sufficiently explained to the audience in due time (though there has been MASSIVE amounts of Fan Dumb over the issue, even when certain reasons were made obvious). The attraction is...not so dangerous as you may think. :)
BTW, my favorite characters are Erza, Jellal, *spoiler*Juvia*spoiler*, Gray, and *spoiler*Gajeel*spoiler*. Who are yours? :)
