the object of her attention is a near perfect specimen of the human male, near only because he lacks the intelligence to tie his own shoe lace.

Sheldon is near perfect in his description of Dean, near only because he is arrogant enough to think that anyone but himself, (and perhaps Amy Farrah Fowler) is an intelligent human specimen, and even then he would say he is more intelligent than she is.

Yep, very few (i.e. none) people qualify as intelligent in Sheldon's book.
