Yes! They're fantastic! Enthusiastically seconded. I wasn't even a big Jane Austen fan before, and detailed knowledge of the book (or any, probably) isn't even necessary. The actors are great, the writing is funny and warm and then heartbreaking, it makes you care about all the characters, and it has lots of great extras on twitter and tumblr etc.

I know, right!!?? I've mainlined it all and you are spot on! The acting, the writing and well EVERYTHING is just awesome!! Esp Lizzie, I can watch her all day. (I practically did) :)

I laughed my ass off at 'Kitty Bennet' even though it wasn't that funny, but still.

*high five*

Kitty Bennet is perfect ;) And Mary, Mary is great! And so is Maria! And Charlotte, I love Charlotte. And Lydia, and Jane, and Lizzie, and Bing, everyone. (The casting for Darcy was a few days ago, if I interpret twitter correctly - sooo curious!) I love how modern they made it and yet so true to the original. I really need to reread P&P soon (but spoilers! Woe.)
I hope someone nominates it for Yuletide.

I love how you can spot some of the plot points coming and be 'hahahaha, I know what's going to happen' but others they disguise in modernity and 'wham!' - you're like - no way!! :)

Charlotte is made of win (and I loved their version on Collins and the 'proposal') I cannot wait to meet Darcy!! *flails*

Thirded, and I say this as someone who is not enamored of Pride and Prejudice. But I have so much catching up to do...I think I left it off at episode 23 or 24...

*fist bump* It's a lot of great catching up to do - I kinda wish I'd found it later so I could watch it all in one go because now I have to wait *sigh* BUT yay for the brillance of it all. (And I am WAY enamored with P&P, oddly enough)

I have to concur with everyone else! I think I am about half way through the ones that have already been made and I love them. I don't know my Jane Austen as well as some as my other literature (I tend to confuse some of the details on the books)but these are so much fun!

Fun with a capital F! :) And with these little episodes the details from the books aren't so important - as they tend to AU it anyway. But hooray!!

When I say details, I mean...characters sometimes :( Mostly because when I watch movie adaptations I tend get all of those lovely British actors and all of the other things they do mixed up in my head. I guess it is my crossover brain at work...like why are Snape, Trelawney and Umbridge all in Jane Austen's world? And what is House doing there with them?

*Flails* I love Sense and Sensbility!! :) I know exactly what you mean and fortunately my mind for details like that is like a steep trap! I love spotting Hugh Laurie in all his pre-House roles, because for me, as much as he is House, he was first (and foremost) George in BlackAdder :)

I love your crossover brain *hugs it*

Why didn't I know about this? And why did I watch the first two episodes on a day when I have tons of papers to grade, a puppy to entertain, and cleaning to do?

The first two are adorable. Jane would be pleased, I think. :)

I think she would too.

And yes, how on earth did we miss this, and I'm glad you now know too.

Good luck with grading all those papers ;)
