Author's Notes: Third in the 'Chasing the Demons' series. This is quite possibly the darkest fic I have ever written, or ever hope to write, come to that. It battled to be written, and I'm very nervous about posting it, knowing that some people on my flist have had personal experience of these issues. I hope you'll forgive me.

I'm glad you read it, and that you think its real and honest. I have read others dealing with the same subject matter, but somehow that seemed to be lacking in them...apart from one. Walking Through The Darkness by mkejenkins was what spurred me on to finally admit my own experiences, and get it all out into the open in the form of a fic. I wanted to show that although it is difficult, we can survive terrible things happening to us, and that surviving is a journey in iteslf. So the series was born, and so far the journey is just beginning to encroach upon more issues.

And yes. Yes, that look would just about melt me, and turn me into a drooling idiot at his feet. *smirk*

I felt I just HAD to say something about this wonderful piece... Once I started reading it I realized I had read it somewhere else... teaspoon perhaps? But what I wanted to say was thanks. I've been on the receiving end of an abusive partner before, actually, 2 of them, and I know exactly how Rose felt. So thanks for this... If only one woman who has a violent partner reads this and GETS OUT... Then you have made the biggest difference possible. *Stands on her chair and applauds*
