Finally Ginger (7/8)

Mar 24, 2008 17:24

After the response to the last chapter (I believe the words Evil Incarnate were used), I figured I should get right on posting chapter 7. Yes, this is THE chapter. The one you've been waiting for.

Just to remind everyone what's happenin', here's the disclaimer stuff again...

I stand by my earlier assertation about "Evil Incarnate". This made up for it. And how perfectly funny that the Tardis couldn't make up its mind about the nursery decor! Ship must have been delirious to have a baby on board with Rose.

But you're only got one chapter left? Oh, boo. How can you possible cover Martha's reaction to the two of them, plus the Doctor's reaction to an alternate him, plus the idea that there's a world with no Time War, plus how the Doctor handles being a dad, plus plus plus...IN ONE CHAPTER????

It better be a damn long chapter. :)

Ok... I'll be honest here. I don't cover ALL of that stuff in the next chapter. But, that's what future fics are for, right?

And I probably don't cover things to the degree that you want, but I do delve into things.

The best part is the Doctor's reaction to a crying baby. :-)

We'll see what you think. That's tomorrow.

I don't want you to think I'm so demanding - but I like the world you've set up, and I just want to see more of it. mea culpa mea culpa....

Hmm...Doctor and crying baby....this ought to be interesting. :)

It's hilarious. And we find out just how much about humans (baby humans that is) the Doctor DOESN'T know. :-)

Oh god, wait'll Martha finds out. XD

Loved this immensely. And the baby's name is genius, really. Also, it amused me that the TARDIS couldn't pick a nursery decor!

I love the TARDIS. I see her as totally feminine, and almost like a mother to the Doctor. She takes care of him, takes care of the people he loves, and when she needs to, she nudges him in the right direction.

(I'll talk about that more in the next fic I post when this one is done).

Oh, wow!!! This story is just fantastic!! What a perfect name for their little girl :-) And oh, my, word. That reunion scene? So perfect for the two of them. Just beautifully done. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Thank you. I'm so glad you liked it.

I came up with the idea for the name when my 15-year-old daughter was telling me about a Doctor Who fanfic that she is actually thinking about writing (I've rubbed off on her). In her story, the Doctor meets two teenage girls - Lilly and Ginger - who were direct descendants of Susan - the Doctor's granddaughter and original companion.

She got me thinking... and she doesn't mind I ran with the idea. :-)

I think the "Evil Incarnate" title stays. You named the poor ginger baby Ginger. *snort* Regardless....

Awwwwww! The TARDIS decorating is adorable. I think she should keep the varied walls. ;-) And YAY! for reunions and snogging and babies. :D

I take it you don't like the name Ginger? :-)

I'm glad you liked the TARDIS's decorating style.

And ANY time snogging is going on between the Doctor and Rose, I'm a happy camper.

I'm just worried about the poor girl, ginger Ginger ;-) Though I suppose it's not as if she'd be going to normal school dealing with the normal bullies and meanies.

Now if only we could get some of that snogging going on screen.

Can't you imagine how THAT conversation would go at a regular school?

"My daddy is a rugby player, and he can beat your daddy up."

"MY daddy is a Time Lord, and he can totally SONIC your daddy."
