I have found myself actually incapable of rewatching the second episode, I am so deeply irritated by the ridiculousness. However, I've watched the other two eps about five times each, so that evens things out a bit, I suppose.

Also! I just posted a few recs at my other journal, and I'll add more as I find them: http://rosa-writes.livejournal.com/63228.html

So much good fic, and so quickly too!

Having now gone through all your recs, I just needed to thank you again for posting them. There is indeed a real abundance of good fic for such a new fandom. I suspect part of it is that most people have either read the stories or seen earlier adaptations, so the character dynamics are already in their heads. The modern setting means writers don't have to deal with historical research or Victorian sexual norms, so all the stories that were waiting to be told came rushing out.

That second episode infuriated me, especially considering how utterly irrelevant it is in light of the first and the third. But I do love the first and the third (not counting the evilness of the ending, which I felt was uncalled for and a cop-out).

I TOTALLY AGREE that Benedict Cumberbatch should narrate everything. EVERYTHING. A friend of mine pointed out that he sounds like Alan Rickman, of whom I also think this, heh.

I saw a review of Sherlock that described Benedict Cumberbatch's voice as "like a jaguar in a cello," which definitely evokes the idea. Alan Rickman is another good comparison. Perhaps they will have to alternate narrating everything so neither of them ends up unduly hoarse.

When I saw the series ender, I actually shouted at the screen. Rather frustrating, that.

There are a lot of really good fic out there for Sherlock fandom. You can check my memories here - there's a lot of Sherlock/John in there (mostly because this is my first truly slash fandom), but a lot of gen, too. There's also a lot of 2009 RDJ film fics in there, but it's mostly Sherlock.

And I'm going to be starting a new Sherlock fic here shortly (much to Wendy's despair). :)

Ha! Shouting at the screen is justified if you weren't aware there was a cliff coming. At least this is a fandom where we can be reasonably sure they're not going to kill off either of the main characters just yet. Other than that, who knows?

Ooh, look at all those stories! Thanks!

So your fandom adultery is more than a one-night stand, I see. ;) I'm not objecting.

Well, it depends on my muse, really.

Right now, it's stalled on the Sherlock and Who fronts, but we'll see :)
