Cross hemisphere flights are always a drag, and you'll also have the shock of going from really short days to really long ones to get used to. It must have been expensive too, getting a flight back on Christmas Eve on such short notice.
Still, it does at least sound like you feel ready to leave, which is always the best way to do things, so I hope your flight goes well and you don't have to suffer too much of a crowd at the airports.
