Poor Prowl, nothing comes easy for him. A nice look at his struggles to claim his status.

Any inclination to write about what happens to Prowl/Jazz after they disappear at the end of SoaL?

No, nothing ever came easy for SoaL!Prowl, but he perserves (and somehow continually misses the point that it shouldn't ever be this hard)

Um... yes? I'm tinkering with something. No idea when it will be ready, but it will come out eventually. All I can say is 'watch this space'

I'm glad to see more of this universe.

Wow, Prowl really couldn't catch a break. It's really interesting reading about what happened to him. I can see why Tripwire was so frustrated while trying to protect him. I can completely believe that Prowl kept all those samples. Ater all,why risk poisoning anyone else? I love the little detail about Prowl not being able to handle high grade.

It was actually really hard to get back into it, I have to say. This wasn't a set of scenes I'd ever planned to write and it took awhile to get my head back into the right space for Prowl at this stage and the players around him. It was a good chance to explore his relationship with Tripwire, though - that never really came through in SoaL, but I think they must have been fairly good friends, given all the disciplinary work Prowl did.

Prowl had it tough (although in truth, when in SoaL did he not?) but he soldiered on and made it through, and in spite of the frustrations he did have friends around and Tripwire was most definitely one of them.

As for the high grade - well, of course he was only a sparkling still at this stage... ;)

Oh Prowl, what a difficult time. And the high grade incident reminded me of just how young he is. <3333333 So happy to see this.

Yes, it was a hard time. And yes he's still so little (and oh wasn't it hard to make sure I wrote him appropriately - it's been so long since he was in this position!) so high grade is still a hazard.

Happy to make you happy :)

He may not be a frontliner, but never let it be said that Prowl doesn't have grit. I appreciate this must have been difficult for you to write, but I loved being back inside SoaL again, especially this phase, when Prowl was just coming into his own and filling the role that Alpha Trion built him for. It's like discovering a special-release DVD with a never-before-seen deleted scene.

This is Prowl at a really interesting phase, as you say - just coming in to his own, not quite at the cocky confident stage he reaches with the Wreckers but also without the major shadows of darker experience that will haunt him later. He's willing to put up with a lot (too much?) to settle in and get to work and prove that this was where he should always have been ( ... )
