H.E.Y.D.A.R. mk V, plus updated The Middleman fandom resources

Sep 20, 2008 14:06

So welcome to my monthly The Middleman fannish resources post, combined with the H.E.Y.D.A.R. write-in campaign info. Please, feel free to spread the news.

Love The Middleman? Love me, and want to keep me happy? Here is what you can do to help get The Middleman renewed for a 2nd season, and out on DVD, and win my love and adoration forever:

Send (and keep sending) M&Ms with cards and postcards to ABC Family:
Paul Lee
President, ABC Family
500 South Buena Vista St
Burbank, CA 91521
There is also a feedback form on the website. Also, they pay attention to hits to the official website, as well as how many times the episodes are purchased from XBox and iTunes.

Send letters. Send emails. Send candy. If you can't send candy, still send postcards and letters and emails. Often. Get your friends who watch the show to do same. Family members, too. Lastly, please spread the word to your flist.

And as always, remember the rules of an effective write-in campaign:
a) be polite
b) thank them for the 1st season
c) tell them you're looking forward to the 2nd season
d) and also, be polite and upbeat
e) and did I mention, polite?
Remember, this network gave our show life. And have been very supportive, and deserve our praise for keeping it on the air, and their continued support of the show despite the ratings. The key here is persistence, and being polite and respectful. ABC Family wants to keep the show on the air, but they need numbers that Nielsen has not provided them. We can give them real numbers, by sending in m&ms, cards, emails, and iTunes sales. We can stand up and be counted. So please, stand up.

In addition to sending those candies that melt in your mouth not in your hand to ABC Family's Paul Lee, send postcards and letters to Buena Vista Home Video:

Andy Siditsky
Senior VP, Worldwide DVD Production
Buena Vista Worldwide Home Entertainment
500 S. Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521
to let them know, we will buy The Middleman: The Complete First Season on DVD the millisecond they see fit to release it.

Also, make sure you vote for The Middleman at TVshowsondvd.com, and leave comments, as folks really do pay attention to these sorts of things, and every little bit helps!

And though season one is currently unavailable on Netflix, you can still leave a review on Netflix.

And most of all, while we wait for DVDs, buy the show from iTunes. Each episode costs less than a Filet-o-Fish sandwich, and you can buy copies for your friends and family for about the price of dinner and a movie. Think of it as going out on a date with Wendy Watson. Who wouldn't want to go out on a date with Wendy Watson? Seriously. She's hot.
