hurrah! I've been playing wth it since late Saturday night, and I am just so incredibly in love with he acting choces Simm and Moen made, and just the implications of their relationship. It fascinates me.

I'm not quite secure enough in my knowledge of the Master to attempt that just yet. Maybe once I've rewatched all the Pertwee and Davison eps. But I am a complete junkie for the Academy!fic that's out there, so who knows?

Lucy Saxon's fast becoming my new favourite character. I love the way you've written them both, with the sense of the Master's calculated madness and Lucy's cool, Hitchockian blonde-ness and complete, utter devotion to him. You capture the moments so well, and I love your style of writing. Utterly brilliant.

Wow. I'd never drawn the parallel there, but OMG YES. So very very Marnie in the scale of the fuckedupedness of the rightness of the Saxons.

I just am fascinated by them, I really am. And maybe it's how we're meant to infer so much of theri relationship from the scenes, becasue so little is stated outright, that havign such a fertile playground is making me so giddy... But just the parallels between the Sixth Master and the Ninth Doctor are just fuelling my imagination right now. It's like the Master is the Doctor's ID, and I do think they are both damaged in similar ways, but what sets them apart is how differently they deal with the new post-Gallifrey-Go-BOOM universe.

I hadn't thought of the Master/Nine parallels. Nine responds to Gallifrey-Go-BOOM (a phrase which made me giggle helplessly, btw) by turning inwards, convinced he's the last and doomed. The Master turns all that pain outwards and inflicts it on other people.

I'm haveing too much playing with the Saxons at the moment - good villains are often hard to come by, and someone as unbalanced as Lucy is always a good source of material :)

To be fair, he doesn't know they're destroyed until "The Sound of Drums". He spent 18 months playing truant thinking that they're just hiding... I think that's part of his madness in "Last..." becasue suddenly he's lost everything, and he's utterly desperate.

Somewhere someday I will be punished for getting such joy out of so fucked up an abisive fictional relationship. But until then... omg I am SO HAPPY. Also? It's nice to actually finish something for the first time in almost a year.

Mmm, fresh LJC-fic! Love it. Yeah, I definitely think the Master would see sexuality this way--another kind of power. I love your characterization of the both of them here, with their respective madnesses.
