ME ME ME ME ME!!!!! I read this about the Adolphus today in the paper and I wanna stay on the 19th floor! :-) Just keep me in mind if you decide to make a trek or evening out of it.

I lived in Houston for 10 years. The Niels Esperson building downtown is said to be haunted. The one with the nifty dome on top and the cow skull/gargoyle things. My best friend's office was in that building. One of the drawers of her desk refused to stay shut. Building engineers check that the floor was level (it was), the desk was inspected, it just wouldn't stay shut. Also it's said that one of the elevators will stop at the 13th floor. No one had punched the button for 13 nor had anyone at the 13th floor elevator bank. Mary always said it was Mr. Esperson riding the elevator again.

It's a really cool building and one of the oldest buildings still in use downtown. At 32 stories, it was the tallest building in Houston when it was built in 1927.
