So I am at home about to take a quick nap before heading out to a party held by a group of friends of mine. And I am reading people's posts about how their day, or rather, holiday season has gone. we too have had a wonderful holiday season... i have to agree with your analysis that it's what you choose to do... for me i add "and where i choose my headspace to be"... more and more, despite all the crap and hassle, this holiday season, every year, is overwhelmingly a time of joy and happiness... i can't do a damn thing about the how the rest of the world celebrates, but i can decide how i will... :)

That is what I'm talking about. As well as just not participating in those things which are unfulfilling. Like the nasty shopping and too many "obligations." I've honed my seasonal celebrations down to those with people I really want to spend time with. Perhaps our outlook sounds a bit Pollyannish, but I think it's more a determination to just have a pleasurable life. There *is* a lot to be angry and bitter about - I absolutely recognize that - but why when you can choose to have a good day most of the time?

This has been the lease stressful holiday season that I've ever had. Mom's out of town (with one of my sisters..and getting to play Grandma with the kids, so she's really happy too!) and I have no requirements of my presence anywhere until Monday the 6th ( ... )

Gods, you make me laugh! Glad you've had such a good holiday. My time spent with relatives was short this year, and actually quite enjoyable. Mostly I am glad to see all my friends - EXCEPT YOU since you weinied last night. :P Hope the bathroom is working again.

Oh I can go and hang out with a group of people that I don't know anytime...WE have our movie nights!!!!
Can you possibly argue that that's not better quality time with ZebraBob?

Indeedie. And I have a small, but growing collection of DVD titles, as well. Steve-O gave me "Meet the Feebles" last night! What a pal. (ha! got one worked in!)
