It is amazing to me and I understand why the people who stopped to help and other first responders kept saying he should play the lottery, he was so lucky.
Dave himself is not entirely sure. He was moving into the fast lane, felt he was headed too close to the center divider, and over-corrected, sending the car over the right lane and into the embankment, where it flipped. What he thinks happen is either the right front tire blew at the point he was moving away from the divider or his bald tires slid or some combination of both, since he didn't feel that he wrenched the wheel that sharply. Once in motion it all happened so fast that it's a blur in his mind (also given the traumatic nature of it I think his brain couldn't quite register it all). Fortunately there were no cars in that lane just then
( ... )
It was scary enough to hear about second hand but seeing the pictures made it much more real for me. It's been a lot to take in and I am so grateful he wasn't seriously injured.

Modern cars--they crumple so you don't have to. :)
I am so happy he walked away from that. Sore, very sore, but alive and mostly well.

I'm with you on the tires. I usually only buy two at a time, because I cannot afford 4 tires at once.

He's feeling much better, just a bit of soreness left and the scrape is healing.
