I have read up to "Mother of Mercy", and my head is spinning! You have been through a lot. It is a testimony of your strength that you have survived.

Thank you for being so willing to share your story.

Thank you for the encouragement!

I didn't think I would survive it while it was happening and it's with some surprise that I look back and realize that I did. There must be a reason!

I would like to think that I lived through that so others don't have to. I hope that other women will read it and know they don't have to put up with such treatment and maybe leave a little sooner than I did.

Thanks for posting this, Tapati. I read the first No Longer Quivering post (the patriarchy one) but haven't had the time to read the others. Glad all the links are here, you always give a lot of food for thought!

You're welcome. I realized some people were coming here for the first time based on those posts at NLQ and that I should offer them a guide. Plus it helps me keep it all straight.

Yes, I also read a whole bunch of this and just found it so compelling and so sad... and dramatic too. I remember going to a lot of "Krishna punk" shows in the 90s- there was a big hardcore/punk scene in Philadelphia surrounding the Hare Krishna movement. I think I still own some of those albums- Shelter, 108:

I just had no idea what it was about though.

I've heard about the punk Krsna scene. They must have thought it was great PR. :)
