The movers scooped up our stuff in one hour. We have a few odds and ends that are going with us, but the bulk of our stuff is now going to the new place. I am still at the old apartment because we have internet here for a few days

I hate moving, too - and I don't even have the childhood issues. I guess you could say I've removed myself from moving issues altogether now that our life must be of a size that can be packed into the back of a Chevy Cavalier...
I know you'll be glad and relieved when it is all over. Hopefully the new place is a better place and you will find clouds of joy just waiting for you :)
The new place rocks! Two bathrooms, I have one of my very own!
I'm glad you are enjoying your stay at the ranch. It sounds wonderful and is really making me want to visit the southwest (other than the corner I've already seen).
A bathroom of your very own - lovely! Glad you're enjoying the new place! I must say - one of the things i love about the bunkhouse is the enormous supply of hot water - I can stand in the hot shower as long as I want. After three month or so of camping and, if I'm lucky, having a cold shower every other day or so - often which I had to pay for - oh yeah, all the hot water...yum. LOL. You're more than welcome to come visit the ranch any time :)
Moving for me is both a wonderful adventure and a horrific nightmare.
I love setting up in a new place, finding all my stuff again (you know, the stuff you put away and forgot about), making a new place home. I love meeting the new neighbors and planting the new gardens.
I hate with a virulent passion the chore of packing. I hate the paperwork that has to be dealt with. I hate the stress and confussion while trying to make it all happen. And if it is a state-to-state move, I hate leaving my familiar turf where I know where I am in relation to everything else.
Here's to a smooth, seemless move into your new place. If I lived closer, I'd bring you a nice houseplant or something to help you warm your new house up. Just pretend I did. Pretend I brought you a lovely little angel wing begonia in an enameled terra cotta pot, 'k? ;)
Thanks, I can just see it now. Maybe I'll make a trip to the nursery when all is settled.
We're in the home stretch, the old place is looking barer and cleaner by the moment. The carpets were just cleaned and look spotless. Most of the deep cleaning is done. I can see the end in sight. And then I can look forward to writing up a bunch of reports for my new job so I can get paid. Otherwise all this running around I've done has been for nothing!
