Fear of getting lost

One of my challenges in this new job is my fear of getting lost on the road. I have to make clusters of appointments in far flung areas of the state and somehow get there despite bad weather (like today) and confusing directions. Plus I don't yet have a gps or mapping software to do it on the fly. My solution? Call my husband in a pinch and have ( Read more... )

Tapati, congrats on your new job, it sounds like something that is just right for you at this time! When those checks come rolling in, do buy some type of navigational GPS system for your car. It will free your hands and eyes and insure we still have you here to write and inspire, for those California highways can be treacherous at times and may need your full time attention at certain critical points.

Yes I definitely want a gps! But for now I think I'll start putting them on tape and also print them in larger print.

That night as I was trying to drive home from Stockton I of course couldn't see what I had written down unless I turned on the lights. I decided to just follow the signs for my area and I know enough about the major arteries that I picked a good route for myself and got home just fine.

Yes, I am definitely feeling lighter now that I have a source of income, am doing some interesting and challenging things, and we even found a new place to live that's nicer than where we are.

We are moving to the other side of "the hill." (which I'm carefully avoiding full mention of because of stalker guy)

So I should be closer to where you are. At some point I'll have a housewarming too. Of course you're invited. :)
