Ohhhhhhhh my head sounds like that.freedompoodleJune 25 2007, 06:02:53 UTC
Holy shit dude, give me my brain back.
Whenever I'm waiting at a BART station and a train on the opposite platform begins to pull out, it makes an ascending "eeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEE!" noise, eventually parking on one note as it gets up to speed, and that never fails to remind me of a section of Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygene where this one synth makes the exact same noise. Whenever I hear it, my brain automatically starts playing the notes right after it. (I haven't listened to that album in YEARS.)
Also, when I'm shelving periodicals at work, the titles of the various magazines always plant songs with similar titles in my head--e.g., Metropolitan Home = "Metropolitan Glide" by Tom Waits. And when there isn't a song with a similar title, my brain just keeps searching until it comes up with anything at all, which is why I get the title of Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel stuck in my head to the tune of "California Uber Alles."
