Holy crap, I love this so much. Your Soldier voice is so, so good, and oh my god, Tavish and Jane just about break my heart. I just love the way you can make maybe-haunted boots touching and a little heartbreaking. And the introduction of first person at the end! Ahh. Ahhhhhhh. &hearts &hearts

You’re also going to - whack - not kill yourself, and - whack - visit my mum, and quit talking to your fucking boots like they’re haunted.

This whole bit is just-- yes. So perfect.

Oh man, 'Haunted boots' alone sounds like a pretty ridiculous and lulzy scenario. I'm happy that I was able to kind of pull off the POV switch, since god only knows how much time I spent puzzling over it. Thank you so much! :D

Oh my god. This was... It... jeez. It makes me wanna cry, it makes my heart hurt, and it's probably the most beautiful 'fic for these two I've ever read. You deserve a medal.

This was great, and one of the best effective uses of second-person narrative I've ever seen (nice fakeout!) So nice to see some Solder & Demo fic for once.

Thanks! It was my first time using second-person narration, and it's a pretty tricky thing to use, I find. But I'm happy you enjoyed it!
