Tomorrow is going to be a really busy day. Besides tidying the various remnants in the house that need tidying, I also need to do a big shop and a bunch of prep work for Dashiell's birthday/our housewarming party

He's grown so much recently it's not funny. Ever since he decided that he would drink from a bottle, and drink other things that aren't just boobjuice (soy, oat, almond, hemp and cow's milk -- he's not fond of water or juice yet), things have been a little easier in the sleep department and he's been putting on more weight. At night sometimes he can drink anywhere from about 12-18oz, which at about 110-130 calories per 8oz can add up.
It's good, because he was a little on the skinny side, and especially after he was sick recently he lost a bunch of weight too.
He's so very definitely a little boy now, and not a baby. It's sad, but fun at the same time.
I should scan the picture of the cake from the magazine. It looks awesome (2-tier blue fondant with multi-coloured fish on it). If I really think about it, that might make me "fret like woah" too, hahaha.
Sometimes though if you just throw yourself into something without realising how hard it really is, then it's not so bad.
Of course Dashiell won't even remember any of this :P So I guess I'm doing it mostly for myself.
I also wrote out a list yesterday of all the groceries I need, along with one of my cookbooks alongside, and I have another list of which foodstuffs will be served, so I think it'll work out. Now it's just the time management aspect (I expect the cake will take a while to decorate) and getting the house tidy on time.
I like to do incredibly stupid things for parties. Half the food I'd planned wasn't prepared in time for Adelaide's fourth because I was too busy fretting over bloody weeds between the pavers. Oh, and the crap on them: Bill had a series of disasters trying to get the grass mowed, and so he didn't get the grass done until an hour before the party started and of course blew crap all over the party area. I'm just glad the people who arrived before the starting time were close friends rather than people I couldn't go, "Hi, welcome, I'm getting dressed now, thanks."
